Foremost Insurance Team
Owner on the Podium in the Lites Class
Jim Neese Places Third in Front of Hometown Crowd
Greensboro, North Carolina (February 2, 2009) - The Foremost Insurance Jim Neese Racing Team raced in Greensboro, North Carolina in front of a packed crowd at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday night January 31. The team put forth a great effort which resulted in a third place finish for team owner, Jim Neese.
Jim Neese and Josh Thomas both missed the cut off in their Arenacross heat races and had to go to the LCQ. They were one and two at the start, with Jim Neese in the lead. It looked like they might both be headed to the main event when Josh Thomas suffered an engine bog in the turn leading up to the catapult jump, just before taking the white flag. The malfunction cost him his spot in the Arenacross main event.
After easily winning his Lites heat race, McDade appeared to be ready to do the same in the main event. However, a crash in the rhythm section eliminated any chance of a runaway victory for McDade. Results for the Lites main event were Jim Neese in third place, Josh Thomas in sixth place and Mike McDade in fourteenth. In the Arenacross main event Jim Neese placed tenth and Mike McDade posted a twelfth. Both riders had bad starts and could not work their way through the pack.
"It felt good to be back on the podium again, especially in front of my hometown crowd. We unfortunately had some mishaps which kept my team mates off the box this weekend. We are working to improve our results as team. Right now, it seems like one of us is running strong each weekend but we need to all be strong every weekend. Josh and Mike both rode well. We just need to push harder as a team to make sure we are all in the top five consistently," noted Neese.
In addition to racing, Jim Neese participated in media interviews and local promotions. He had two television news interviews, one with the local CBS Station and the other with News14. He also took part in a visit to the Brenner's Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem and the Open House event at SRS Motorsports in Greensboro.
