Jim Neese Wins Arenacross Lites Class in Wachovia Arena
Neese Runs Into Trouble With Lapped Traffic in Arenacross Class
Greensboro, North Carolina (March 16, 2009) – Jim Neese, of the Foremost Insurance Jim Neese Racing Team finished inside the top ten in every event this past weekend. His best finish was his win in the Arenacross Lites class on Saturday night.
Neese had a shot at his first podium this season in the Arenacross class, but an especially slow lapped rider caused him serious trouble on the last lap of the main event. Neese had been riding in third place most of the race but he was passed on the second to last lap. He was battling to regain third place, when he came up on lapped traffic. He was able to avoid crashing when a lapped rider rolled the catapult jump, but was unable to get a clean jump over the catapult. He cased the jump and suffered a minor injury to his wrist and finished the race in 9th place.
Neese’s results for the Arencross class were a 9th place finis
h on Friday night and an 8th place finish on Saturday night. In the Arenacross Lites class it was a 7th place finish on Friday night and a 1st place finish on Saturday night.
Josh Thomas had a tough weekend and only qualified for the Arenacross Lites class on Saturday night. He finished 13th overall in the main event
“It was good to get back on the podium this weekend in the Arenacross Lites class. I was hoping for my first podium this season in the Arenacross class. Lapped traffic was a big problem at the Wachovia Center. Josh Thomas had some trouble pulling it together this weekend. Mike Mcdade did not race this weekend and will not be racing in the season finale. I am looking forward to Josh Thomas and me finishing up strong next weekend in Kentucky,” commented Jim Neese.
